Greg Weisman says Bronx is a species divergent from the main gargoyles, like he is to them what monkeys are to humans.

So apparently he's not just an inbred genetic throwback.

Hey, Angie and AnnMarie, I dunno if you guys know, but the TTC runs out to the airport. You can bus it back to the subway and just ride that home and save yourself like 50 bucks on cab fare.

Man, I got like eight ShamWows for Christmas, I'm waiting with bated breath for something to spill.

Think I might go to EB after work and rub my face against their wares.

Lucas has photos of me holding a weird little port sipper thing that looks like a barometer and a .44 Magnum that he needs to send me.

DAT JAW.

Lucas took his fat stacks of Hydro Cash in hand and completely spoiled everyone in the family this Christmas, so I'm currently in the process of leveling up my sweet PS3 graphic'd Dragon Age gypsy elf. I was trying to make a beefy black guy elf because I like how it contrasts with EVERY STANDARD OF ELFISHNESS EVER, but I didn't like their dreadlock look and basically ended up making a big native guy. I should try to hook him up with the blond manwhore elf, it'll be like the Legolas/Turok fanfiction I know everybody's always wanted to see.

Oh lawd, this thing is supposed to have over 100 hours of gameplay. I'll miss you guys.

Other Christmas highlights, dad gave me some monies to put towards the laptop fund, and my mom found the coolest plush zombie I have ever seen. Seriously, look at that, you can rip him in half and he has little ribbon guts that hold him together. I am also returning with a magical relic of my people from the heart of our homeland to bind you all in spells of awe and wonder. The week's been pretty solidly booked up with people to see and things to do, so I've been out visiting family friends probably ever day since I've gotten here, make the most of the week, yanno'.

Went out sledding for the first time in yeeeeeeeears today, nothing makes you realize just how out of shape you are quite like running up a hill for two and a half hours. But it was great, we started with five people and ended with something closer to twenty, had a fire going, roasted marshmallows and drank tea. Luke rigged up a busted up old couch on some crazy carpets and actually managed to get it down the hill once without tipping the whole setup. Later we had a couple people over for dinner and managed to snag more over the course of the night until we ended up with four or five more in our fellowship by the time we made it to dessert.

One more night and then it's off to Winnipeg on Monday evening and Toronto Tuesday morning, and we already have plans for it. Between all the nibbly Christmas treats I've been munching around the house and all the big dinners we've been invited out to, I don't think I've even thought about feeling hungry since I got back. I'm gonna have to like, fast for a week after I leave just to digest everything.

All in all, pretty rad Christmas. I kinda miss the Sheridan way of doing the holidays where you get like, a month off, I'mma miss everyone when the week's over.

Still trying to convince Luke to adventure out to Toronto later this year, tho ;P

Happy Midwinter!

The puppy, Roo, didn't make it. I didn't get the writing job. A close family friend (who is also my second cousin, but since I don't even know what that means...) died of cancer two days ago as well. Despite these crushing blows to my shaky attempts at optimism, Christmas was good. My family is coping well enough for the moment; this is essentially the first time we've ever faced death(s). It's painfully, painfully ironic, though, that we adopted the puppy because my 14-year old dog (I am 20, I have had her since I was 6) doesn't have much time left... I'm not sure what I'll do when it's her turn. Love you, Tawny. RIP, Roo and Gerry. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Back in the Manitobas

I think my haircut may be exactly how I want it, which is both cool that he got it bang-on, but kind of sad that it'll have to grow out and stop being awesome. It's buzzed on the back of my neck but still kinda nose-lenth-ish in the front with a side part. Feels good to be rid of those five inches of fluff on the back of my neck, plus now I could probably be a convincing fat catwoman cosplayer.

Speaking of which, I should probably stop cramming goldfish crackers into my face consistently.

I don't have the energy to rant about Stupak/Nelson. Instead, a happy post!

Small acts. It's amazing what they can do.

Short Life Update

Current Mood: drained
Things:

-Am now unemployed, rabidly seeking to remedy this. The unempolyment was my doing, though, because I really couldn't take my old job anymore.
-Done with school for the moment, time to visit my family--and Travis' too, of course--for the holidays.
-My family recently "inhereted" a puppy (from a stray litter) who quickly came down with parvo. :( She's in overnight care now (not because the outlook was grim, really, just because the first clinic had us take her home at night and that felt... counterproductive), we're all hoping for the best... poor thing.
-Hope to have some time to chill out in January, even if I do get a new job. I had a really good interview on Friday, which I'm also hopeful about (a copywriting/editing job on campus).

LJ Messenger Fraud??

Okay, I don't understand this "LJ Messenger" thing.  If it's just an MSN non-standard client, then why do you need to "list it in your profile"?!
